In the era of big data AI, Dalseong-gun goes beyond offline promotion and leads global tourism promotion of 7,000 multicultural families (2.65% of the total population of approximately 260,000) and the 12 scenic views of Dalseong, Daegu .
Daegu is formed as a basin surrounded by Mt. Palgongsan and Mt. Biseulsan on all sides, and the city developed around Geumho River and Sincheon River. Due to its basin-type topography, it is one of the cities with the highest temperatures in South Korea.

Reasons for visiting Daegu
For domestic tourists, the reasons for choosing Daegu included the abundance of things to see and do (46.9%), the destination's reputation (46.6%), and accessibility (15.8%), while food (8.9%) ranked 7th.
The cumulative number of foreign tourists visiting Daegu was 360,000 as of December 2023, an increase of 280,000 from the same period last year (80,000), which is a recovery of more than half compared to 710,000 in 2019 before COVID-19. This symbolic sculpture commemorates the 100th anniversary of the opening of Dalseong-gun and prays for a powerful leap forward for the next 100 years. It is 26m high and 21m wide and was installed on an artificial island in the shape of Daegu Metropolitan City, symbolizing Dalseong, the root of Daegu. It is used as a multipurpose cultural space for outdoor wedding ceremonies and performances, and has established itself as a landmark of Dalseong. | |
