North Chungcheong Province has secured an average annual demand for industrial sites of 2.568 million square meters from 2026 to 2035, giving it the nation's largest capacity to supply new industrial complexes. The fifth factor is the change in the structure of national electricity demand. The 11th Basic Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand projected 15.4 GW for semiconductors and 6.2 GW for data centers by 2038, and the government is re-examining the demand for AI data centers and additional electrification in the 12th plan. Yongsu holds particular structural significance in Chungbuk.

What is actually used by industry is not the total reservoir capacity of the dam, but the available supply that reaches the factory through water intake, purification, and pipelines .
